Chasing a target of 398 runs, they lost all wickets and scored 327 runs after 50 overs. India won by a huge margin of 71 runs. Mohammad Sami got the man of the match award with 7 wickets.
Australia 1st round
At the beginning of the first round of the 2023 World Cup, it seemed that Australia would not be able to make it past the 1st round in this year’s World Cup. Australia won 7 and lost 2 out of 9 matches in the first round. They qualified for the semi-finals as the third team with 14 points (Australia won by Sri Lanka 5 wtks, Pakistan 62 runs, Netherlands 309 runs, New Zealand 5 runs, England 33 runs, Afghanistan 3 wtks, Bangladesh 8 wtks and Australia lost by India 7 wtks, South Africa 134 runs). 19.11.23 India vs Australia face off in final. Australia won the toss and decided to field first. India batted first and scored 240 runs at the end of 50 overs losing all wickets. Rohit Sharma 47 with the bat, Shovoman Gill 4, Virat kholi 54, Shreyas Iyer 4, KL Rahul 66, Ravindra Jadeja 9, Suryakumar Yadav 18, Mohammad Sami 6, Bumrah 1, Kuldeep Yadev 10, Siraj 9 & extra 12 runs. In response to 240 runs, Australia went down to bat at the end of 43 overs . They won by 241 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
