The Padma Bridge is one of the dream projects of Bangladesh. It is a multipurpose road and rail bridge over the Padma River. It will be the sixths largest bridge in the world upon completion.

The main bridge measures 6.15 km in length and 16.10 m in width. There are two tiers to the bridge that connects Mawa in the Munshiganj district with Jajira in the Shariatpur district. বাংলাদেশের দীর্ঘতম সেতু হল পদ্মা বহুমুখী সেতু। ২৫ জুন, ২০২২-এ প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা দেশের বৃহত্তম অবকাঠামো প্রকল্পটি উদ্বোধন করেছিলেন। সেতুটি নির্মাণে ইস্পাত এবং কংক্রিট ব্যবহার করা হয়েছিল। বাইরের কোনো তহবিল ছাড়াই বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে বড় প্রকল্পটি হলো উল্লিখিত স্বপ্নের পদ্মা সেতু।
মূল সেতুটির দৈর্ঘ্য ৬.১৫ কিমি এবং প্রস্থ ১৬.১০ মিটার। মুন্সীগঞ্জ জেলার মাওয়াকে শরীয়তপুর জেলার জাজিরার সাথে সংযোগকারী সেতুটির দুটি স্তর রয়েছে। এটির নীচে একটি রেলপথ এবং শীর্ষে একটি চার লেনের রাস্তা রয়েছে। ভবিষ্যৎ রেল, গ্যাস, বিদ্যুৎ এবং ফাইবার অপটিক ক্যাবল এক্সটেনশন পদ্মা সেতু অতিক্রম করবে। ৩০,০০০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যয়ে নির্মিত সেতুটি বাংলাদেশের দক্ষিণাঞ্চলের শিল্প, সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধিতে উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে সহায়তা করেছে। শুধু জাতির জন্য নয়, এশিয়া ও দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়ার মধ্যে আঞ্চলিক সংযোগের জন্যও সেতুটি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
