Smart Bangladesh is a vision which aims at making Bangladesh a modernized and developed country using advanced technologies. The government has already formed “Smart Bangladesh Taskforce” to make the vision a reality. The mission is to make a smart Bangladesh where its citizen, government, economy and society will be smart based on advanced technology. It may sound as fantasy but it is quite possible as we have already been successful in digitalizing every sector. This digitalization is transforming our cities, agriculture, healthcare, education, governance and government and non-government organizations into smart ones.
Our people have already got smart NID cards, e-passport, 5G mobile network, internet based services, e-communication, digital marketing, e-banking, e-commerce, EVMs, mobile banking services, online healthcare, online education, online utility bill payment, app-based ride share services, national emergency helpline services and what not. Now people use government portals, websites, social media pages and various apps in their daily life to meet their needs. All these have made our daily life smoother, faster and smarter. To make Bangladesh a modern, developed and prosperous country by the year 2041, the initiatives taken by the government must be fulfilled. If we want to turn Bangladesh a smart one, we all have to come forward. Along with the government, the private sector and all concerned must play active role. If this mission becomes successful, the world will be acquainted with a new Bangladesh and we will be the beneficiary of this achievement.

স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ একটি রূপকল্প যার লক্ষ্য উন্নত প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহার করে বাংলাদেশকে একটি আধুনিক ও উন্নত দেশে পরিণত করা। রূপকল্পকে বাস্তবে রূপ দিতে সরকার ইতোমধ্যে ‘স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ টাস্কফোর্স’ গঠন করেছে। মিশন হল একটি স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ তৈরি করা যেখানে এর নাগরিক, সরকার, অর্থনীতি এবং সমাজ উন্নত প্রযুক্তির ভিত্তিতে স্মার্ট হবে। এটি কল্পনার মতো শোনাতে পারে তবে এটি বেশ সম্ভব কারণ আমরা ইতিমধ্যে প্রতিটি সেক্টর ডিজিটালাইজেশনে সফল হয়েছি। এই ডিজিটালাইজেশন আমাদের শহর, কৃষি, স্বাস্থ্যসেবা, শিক্ষা, শাসন এবং সরকারি ও বেসরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে স্মার্টে রূপান্তরিত করছে।
আমাদের জনগণ ইতিমধ্যেই স্মার্ট এনআইডি কার্ড, ই-পাসপোর্ট, 5জি মোবাইল নেটওয়ার্ক, ইন্টারনেট ভিত্তিক পরিষেবা, ই-কমিউনিকেশন, ডিজিটাল মার্কেটিং, ই-ব্যাংকিং, ই-কমার্স, ইভিএম, মোবাইল ব্যাংকিং পরিষেবা, অনলাইন স্বাস্থ্যসেবা, অনলাইন শিক্ষা, অনলাইন ইউটিলিটি পেয়েছে। বিল পেমেন্ট, অ্যাপ-ভিত্তিক রাইড শেয়ার পরিষেবা, জাতীয় জরুরি হেল্পলাইন পরিষেবা এবং কী নয়। এখন মানুষ তাদের দৈনন্দিন জীবনে সরকারি পোর্টাল, ওয়েবসাইট, সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া পেজ এবং বিভিন্ন অ্যাপ ব্যবহার করে তাদের চাহিদা মেটাতে। এসবই আমাদের দৈনন্দিন জীবনকে করেছে মসৃণ, দ্রুত এবং স্মার্ট। ২০৪১ সালের মধ্যে বাংলাদেশকে একটি আধুনিক, উন্নত ও সমৃদ্ধ দেশে পরিণত করতে সরকারের গৃহীত উদ্যোগগুলো অবশ্যই বাস্তবায়ন করতে হবে। বাংলাদেশকে স্মার্ট করতে চাইলে আমাদের সবাইকে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। সরকারের পাশাপাশি বেসরকারি খাতসহ সংশ্লিষ্ট সবাইকে সক্রিয় ভূমিকা পালন করতে হবে। এই মিশন সফল হলে বিশ্ব একটি নতুন বাংলাদেশের সাথে পরিচিত হবে এবং আমরা এই অর্জনের সুফলভোগী হব।
