As a social being, man likes to live in family. But for some practical purposes sometimes he is bound to live outside home. Students of schools and colleges often live in hostels for study purpose. A student living near educational institutions usually lives at home but one whose house is far away from educational institutions or does not get suitable environment at home to study lives in hostels, Actually, there are some advantages and disadvantages of both types of life. In a hostel, a student usually gets more time to study than at his family. Besides, he can easily get other students to discuss any critical topic. Life in hostel is completely devoid of parental love and guidance that are available in the family.
In a hostel, a student has to manage everything by himself and learn how to cope with the realities of life. But in a family, parents try to bring up their children in accordance with their wishes and ideology. In a hostel, one gets complete liberty which very often ruins life. A student who is not conscious of his duties and responsibilities may easily go astray living in a hostel. In extreme cases, he may become addicted to drugs. In fact, hostel life can be a blessing for a student who is responsible while it can be a curse for one who indulges in carefree and immoral activities. Actually, success of a student usually depends on his own. It depends on how he takes life. A careful and conscious student can easily do better living in a family or in a hostel.
